1. Your Right to Opt Out
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar state privacy laws, California residents (and residents of certain other U.S. states) have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of their personal information.
2. What Counts as “Sale” or “Sharing” on Our Site
Depplo does not sell personal information for money. However, like most ad-supported publishers, we work with analytics providers, advertising networks, and affiliate tracking platforms that may receive identifiers (such as cookie IDs or IP addresses) in connection with interest-based advertising and affiliate referral tracking for our VPN, gaming, AI, and software partners. Under CCPA/CPRA, this type of data sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising may legally be considered a “sale” or “share,” even though no money changes hands for your specific data.
3. How to Opt Out
You can opt out of this sharing in any of the following ways:
- Cookie Preference Manager: Use the cookie/privacy preference tool available on our Site (typically linked in the footer) to disable advertising and non-essential tracking cookies.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): If your browser or a browser extension sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat this as a valid opt-out request for that browser/device where technically detectable.
- Email Request: Email admin@depplo.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information,” including enough information for us to locate your data (such as the email address associated with any account or subscription).
4. Verification
For requests submitted by email, we may need to verify your identity or your authority to act on behalf of another consumer (as an authorized agent) before processing the request, consistent with CCPA/CPRA requirements.
5. Processing Time
We will process opt-out requests as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any case within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally within 15 business days for opt-out requests under CCPA/CPRA).
6. Non-Discrimination
We will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your opt-out rights.
7. Sensitive Personal Information
Depplo does not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (as defined under CPRA) beyond what is necessary for the limited purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
